DA: Infant Remains Found In Rochester, Massachusetts Recycling Center

ROCHESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Cape and Islands District Attorney is asking for the public's help in identifying "fetus or newborn infant" remains that were discovered on Thursday.

Employees at Zero Waste Solutions at 50 Cranberry Highway in Rochester, Massachusetts, found the remains of a newborn girl on Thursday, said Cape and Islands District Attorney Robert Galibois' office. The remains were discovered in a trash collection that appeared to be from Martha's Vineyard and shipped to the recycling facility for disposal, according to investigators.

The fetus' mother may still be alive. Officials said she may have ties to or recently traveled to Martha's Vineyard.
