Mattapan Double Shooting, One Man Fatally Shot Early Sunday Morning

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Officers heard reports of a person shot in the area of 1601 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan just before 6 A.M. When officers arrived they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene, Boston Police Department said.

Not long after, officers found a second man suffering from gunshot wounds that were determined to be non-life threatening, officials said. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the incident. No other information is known at this time.
