Gas Attendant Stabbed In Quincy; Suspect Still On The Loose

QUINCY (WBZ-AM) -- Quincy Police are looking for a man they say attacked a gas station attendant, stabbing him in the middle of the day Saturday.

Steve Bonfiglioli, who owns Bonfiglioli's Auto on Hancock Street, told WBZ-TV one of his employees was attacked by a man who asked for directions.

"This guy legitimately tried to kill him," he said.

The attendant was stabbed in the stomach, and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

"There's a guest out there that's waiting to get served," Bonfiglioli said, recounting the incident. "My attendant drags him outside. He wants to get him outside to expose him."

The two men wrestled, and the attendant dragged him outside. The knife fell, and the other man took off.

The business has been robbed several times, most recently back in February.

Bonfiglioli said this type of thing should not happen.

"They shouldn't have to go through what they have to go through," he said. "They're out in the freezing cold pumping gas, working hard, and they legitimately fear for their life."

The whole thing was captured on video, but the suspect has not yet been caught.

"I feel pretty confident that he will get caught, the pictures are so clear of his face," Bonfiglioli said. "The police do think they have a couple of people in mind."
