BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- The Bruins will host the Lightning for Game 4 of the East semifinals tonight at 7 p.m., and coach Bruce Cassidy knows his B's will have to be more disciplined after going on the penalty kill nine times during the last two losses, compared to just four power play chances.
"I think we were the least-penalized team coming out of the Toronto series, or if not, close," he said. "It's kinda gone the other way the last couple of games for whatever reason. But, at the end of the day, whatever's called, you gotta control your own environment and play. Hopefully we get some to go our way at some point."
"Part of that's on us to have more urgency around their net so that you're in a position to draw penalties, right? That's kind of how it works," Cassidy added. "Have the puck a little more so you're not defending, where you get into penalty trouble. It's both those things, it's our play, and it's part of, the guys gotta have the mental toughness this time of the years just to play on, play through whatever happens."
Bolts coach Jon Cooper expects the Bruins to be ready.
"For them in their home building, to go down 3-1, that's enough motivation for them," he said. "They're a proud team, they've had guys that've been there before. Their leadership core is, gotta be one of the tops in the league, so I know those guys'll be ready."
Is Rick Nash feeling good?
"Having a clean slate and moving on from the past, you can't change it now," he said. "We're down 2-1, we need a fresh start, and we're at home. It's going to be a huge game for us."
