BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Rick Porcello’s won 18 games this year--including one in the playoffs to eliminate the Yankees in the ALDS--and he’s started 313 games, but tonight’s will mark his first in the World Series.

Rick, excited?

"Absolutely," he said. "I mean, that's what you dream about, that's the work, basically starting at this time last year, coming until now. You get that one opportunity, you make the most of it."

His Red Sox lead the Dodgers 2-nothing with the series now in Los Angeles. What does he suppose the environment will be like?

"It's going to be exciting," Porcello said. "I mean, the atmosphere's I'm sure gonna be loud. You gotta do the best you can to control your emotions and maintain your focus, and all those things that go into competing in a high-level situation. But that opportunity to get two more wins, we're all chomping at the bit for it."

He's human. Is it tough emotionally to not get ahead of himself, so close to a championship?

"It's been a great ride all year, but we got two more wins we gotta get, and I don't think anybody's resting easy about that," Porcello said. "Those are two tough wins, and we just gotta keep doing what we're doing."

Porcello has a 5.91 career ERA in two starts at Dodger Stadium, but he hasn’t pitched there since 2011.
