BOSTON (WBZ-AM) -- Sports betting's already legal in Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, Mississippi, West Virginia, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania--and, today, the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island will accept its first bets.
Twin River's expecting to start taking bets in Tiverton next month.
While Massachusetts and others are still monitoring the situation, Rhode Island's the only New England state that's passed legislation legalizing sports betting after the Supreme Court struck down a federal law that made most sports gambling illegal.
