Bruins Won't Blame Cher for Early Series Start

By Adam M. Kaufman, WBZ NewsRadio Sports Anchor

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Plenty of Bruins fans were ticked Boston had to start its conference semifinals series with Columbus less than 48 hours after sending Toronto packing, but that - at least in part - came down to building availability.

Cher's playing the Garden Sunday, so that ruled out Friday-Sunday home games. Series had to be bumped up to Thursday-Saturday.

The Bruins won 3-2 in overtime last night to take Game 1, so obviously the quick start didn't bother anyone but, even before the game, coach Bruce Cassidy wasn't about to make any excuses.

Of course, had the Bruins lost, might've had you feeling like turning back time like Cher.

No need. Game 2 is Saturday.
