NORWOOD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Norwood say a man is in the hospital with serious injuries, hit by a car early this morning on Washington Street.

The strike was reported after 1 a.m. Monday, and police say the driver, a 25-year-old Brockton woman, remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. It appears the pedestrian, a 37-year-old Norwood man who was not identified, was crossing Washington street in the 400 block.

The Norwood Police Department is working with the Norfolk District Attorney on the investigation, "standard in serious pedestrian crashes," along with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.

Police did not release further details, but say the pedestrian was brought to a Boston Hospital.
