MEDFORD (WBZNewsRadio) - Thousands of homes and businesses were without power early Friday morning as strong wind gusts and rain moved through Massachusetts.
More than 23,000 customers were without electricity as of 7:00 a.m., according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency.
Rain will taper from the northwest to southeast during Friday morning, with the last to clear being Cape Cod. Wind peak will last through 8:00 a.m. and gradually decrease through out the day. There will be a wind shift to the northwest by mid to late morning, with wind gusts clocking in between 30-40 mph. Temperatures will start out mild, with highs nearing 60 before noon.

Rain totals will likely average between just a half inch and an inch, although it may fall heavy at times. The good news is the system will move fast enough as not to cause any major flooding concerns.
By Friday afternoon, the wind will decrease hour-by-hour with temperatures falling off by late afternoon and evening. Temperatures will drop into the teens and 20's by midnight.

As for Saturday, it'll start off cold for many with temperatures in the teens, early sunshine before clouds. A weak Clipper system moves through Saturday afternoon and could bring a few snow showers to the area, with very little accumulation if any at all.
