GRANBY (WBZNewsRadio) - A person and their dog are back on dry land after getting stuck in swampland Wednesday afternoon.

The Granby Fire department received a call for help around 12:30 p.m. and quickly found the person stuck in the muck. Using a throw rope, they were able to safely get the victim back on solid ground. That's when the person told rescuers there was also a dog in need of rescuing elsewhere in the swamp.

Finding the pooch proved to be a bit more difficult. A rescuers needed to put on a water rescue suit, which was tethered to the search party. Thankfully the dog was found and rescued.
