BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - The weekend is once again upon us and despite unsettled weather on tap for Friday, it appears as though Saturday and Sunday will be spectacular.

FAN EXPO Boston

Whether you're into comics, horror, sci-fi, or just like getting dressed up in cosplay, the FAN EXPO comes to Boston this weekend. There will be a number of celebrities, including Hayden Christensen, Zachary Levi, Jason Lee, and Danny Trejo, along with voice actors, franchises and famous cosplayers all in attendance.

“FAN EXPO is back in Boston and ready to throw one of our biggest fan celebrations yet! We’ve put together a phenomenal roster of legendary celebrities and comic creators,” said Andrew Moyes, Vice President of FAN EXPO. “Fans of all stripes will be able to join us over the three days of our show to engage with their favorite actors, creators and more through Q&As, cosplay, special presentations, 1:1s with comic creators, and much more.”

New Bedford’s Feast of the Blessed Sacrament

It’s the 107th annual celebration of the feast of the Blessed Sacrament and it’s well underway. Kicking off Yesterday, Aug 3rd and running through Sunday, Aug 6th, there will be four stages of free live entertainment. With a Carnival, Parade, and family fun day all on the books, there will be something for everyone.

SoWa First Fridays

The first Friday of every month comes alive at SoWa in the South End. Artists’ studios at 450 Harrison will open their doors to the public to showcase their work. This year, attendees will also be able to purchase beverages and food from food trucks located at 500 Harrison Ave.

New England's largest Christian Music Festival arrives at Topsfield Fairgrounds this weekend, hosting their 25th annual event. It's the first time the event has been held at the fairgrounds.

Remember in elementary school when you'd have that amazing end-of-the-year Field Day? Well you can relive all that nostalgia at this weekend's Field Day in Brighton. Yes there will be games, prizes and of course bragging rights. Registration isn't required for the event, but games and scheduled activities will need to be booked in advance as slots will fill up fast. There will also be a tye-dye station so make sure to bring all the white t-shirts you can find!
