WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Since January of 2021, the Worcester Community Fridge has been feeding the Main South neighborhood and now the fridge is looking for a new home.
Located at 910 Main Street, the Worcester Community Fridge didn't say why they're looking to relocate that specific fridge, but they're asking the community that has supported them for the last two years to continue as they move forward.
"Neighbors made this possible by showing up in beautiful and radical ways, to support each other in making sure we’re all fed. 24/7, no questions asked." The organization said. "We want to thank Saket Lohia and all the employees of Fantastic Pizza for their generosity and flexibility as we worked together to navigate neighbors accessing food via a community fridge. Also extending a thank you to the students of Claremont Academy, for sharing their art work with the community. Thank you to Superior Waste and Cruz Contracting for working with us to manage the inevitable trash overflow that comes with this work."
The Worcester Community Fridge currently runs several other locations at 695 Southbridge Street, 44 Portland Street, 42 South Street, and 16 Brooks Street.
