QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A chef on the South Shore is displaying his culinary skills on national television.

Laurence Louie is co-owner and chef of the award-winning restaurant Rubato in Quincy.

He's appearing on the Food Network's wildly popular show 'Chopped' tonight.

The show is a competition of chefs facing off in three different rounds where they cook an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert while on the clock.

Other top chefs are judges who determine a winner to move on in the competition.

Top prize is $10,000.

Louie was named one of Plate Magazine's young chefs to watch in 2023.

He specializes in Chinese-American cuisine.
