80's Fashion Trend Makes Comeback Driven By TikTok And A.I.

LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lynn color analyst Ginger Burr examines her clients' hair, eyes, skin tones and other features to determine which colors they should wear.

Fashion experts like Burr started using color analysis in the 1980's

The practice fell out of fashion in subsequent decades.

Now color analysis is making a comeback.

Burr said millennial and Generation Z women think differently than other generations when they curate their wardrobes. They tend to consider factors like sustainability and minimalism.

"And of course they're thinking 'How can I look my best?'" Burr said.

Each color palette corresponds to a season. Autumn's palette includes molasses browns and pine tree greens. Summer's palette has lemon yellows and clear sky blues.

New generations are employing artificial intelligence and TikTok filters to analyze their features and determine their palettes.
