Acting Mayor Kim Janey Attends Reopening Celebration Of Frog Pond

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Boston Common Frog Pond spray pool has reopened for the first time since 2019.

A reopening celebration started at 11 a.m. on Thursday and Acting Mayor Kim Janey attended the event.

The pond's official mascot, "Frog Pond Freddie," joined Janey in greeting children enjoying the spray pool

HP Hood LLC and the New England Dairy Council provided ice cream and treats for the community.

There was also a Legoland Discovery Center table where the public could build LEGO creations.

The spray pool will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Labor Day.

Families can also enjoy the Boston Common Frog Pond Carousel from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. every day.
