REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world will be descending on Revere Beach this weekend for the 19th Annual International Sand Sculpting Festival.

Hosted by the Revere Beach Partnership, the popular summer event runs from Friday, July 28th through Sunday, July 20th.

As an international event, the sculptors come from all over the world including the Netherlands, Canada, California…. and Saugus.

That’s where sculptor Debra Barrett-Cutulle is from.

She said that she’s been coming to Revere Beach and creating sand sculptures from the very beginning. “I am in love…. with the sand,” she said. “And I’ve been here for all the years. It will be 20 years next year, and I love it.”

This year’s theme is ‘Kong’.

Along with all the amazing sand sculptures designed by world-class sculptors, the event features food trucks and food vendors with cuisines from around the world, live entertainment, and fireworks on Saturday night.
