MARSHFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It was an act of pure kindness; two workers at a Brockton waste company are credited with finding a prized ice skate belonging to a Marshfield man.
Someone mistakenly threw the skate into a dumpster while cleaning up after a fire at the Castle Green Apartments back in late October.
Fire victim Mike Cogliano needed the ice skate for a charity hockey game against the Boston Bruins Alumni Association. He said he was devastated when he realized the mistake.
Cogliano said he thought the skate was gone forever.

However, two men heard about Cogliano's bad luck and decided to help.
The two Graham Waste employees, Andy Ramper and Peter Malone, took it upon themselves to empty out the dumpster one item at a time until they found the skate towards the bottom.
"They looked through the whole entire dumpster and I guess two hours later they found it. I'm just a regular person and I'm just thinking nobody would do that anyway for anybody," Cogliano said.
Cogliano appreciated the kind act and had Ramper and Malone sign the ice skate, so he would always remember their act of kindness.
