BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Monday night's final Beanpot game ended with a low scoring Boston University triumph over Northeastern University.

BU won over Northeastern with a 1-0 score, scoring late in the third period.

The winning and sole goal of the game was scored by BU Forward Dylan Peterson who was waiting at the backdoor of the goal for a strong assist pass from Forward Jamie Armstrong. Just prior to Peterson's shot on net, the Huskies were holding the puck down in BU's zone, when a turnover in front of the net ultimately transitioned into Peterson and Armstrong's two-on-one opportunity. With two minutes and 46 seconds left in regulation time of the third period, the Terriers found themselves one goal ahead of Northeastern.

The score remained that way for the rest of the Beanpot final, winning BU the title for the first time since their championship win back in 2015.
