Brockton Police Charge Man For Double Shooting That Killed Teen Stepson

BROCKTON, Mass, (WBZ NewsRadio) — Tuesday evening, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office announced that a man has been charged in connection to a double shooting on Brockton's Tribou Street that left one mother in critical condition, and her 14-year-old son dead.

Officials say 38-year-old Justelino Resende of Brockton pleaded not guilty to murder, assault, and possession of a firearm, charges in Brockton District Court.

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the shots fired, finding both 39-year-old Felicia Cepeda and her son Nehemiah suffering from gunshot wounds. The boy victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead of his injuries. His mother was transported to Boston Medical Center where she remains for treatment.

Resende is scheduled to appear in court on April 27.

The shooting marks the second homicide in Brockton for 2023, the first being a shooting at a local Dollar Tree in January.
