Burlington Water Deemed Safe, According To DPW Director

BURLINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Residents in Burlington can resume their normal water usage, following a boil water order.

On Thursday, placed a emergency Boil Water Order after E. Coli was detected during a regular water testing.

In a press release, DPW Director John Sanchez outlined steps residents much complete for safety purposes.

Residents are urged to run their faucets for 10 minutes to clear out any built up water in their pipes and should dispose of ice and make ice twice using their refrigerator’s ice maker before using the ice. They should also remove and replace any water filters.

Sanchez said, "We are confident that the town’s water is safe to drink and we thank the community for their patience while we worked to address these concerns.”
