SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Creators connected with local leaders on the North Shore at the Creative Collective's Coffee with the Collective event earlier this month.

Creative Collective is a program that helps the creative workforce grow their businesses, raise brand awareness, and facilitate connections.

Every month, the Coffee with the Collective event brings together creators and small business owners with municipal leaders and lawmakers to make sure their voices are heard.

"[It's] to make sure that the voice of the creator was heard in this election, in future decisions being made," founder John Andrews told WBZ NewsRadio.

"It’s really allowed me to tap into my greater local economy," business owner Dana Quigley said. "[It] helps identify customers and also people who can work with me to produce great content."

This month's Coffee with the Collective took place at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. The next event is scheduled for April 6 at the Neal Rantoul Vault Theatre in Lynn.

"It’s more casual, more relaxed, and people can also share what they do during the day, but also what they do on the weekends," said Quigley.
