Death Of Lexington Woman Ruled To Be A Homicide

LEXINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Authorities in Middlesex County have ruled the death of a Lexington woman whose body was found in a car on Worthen Road early Thursday as a homicide.

Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said victim Shen Cai was beaten to death.

“The officer, the medical examiner conducted an autopsy late yesterday afternoon. And it was learned that Miss Cai came to her death after sustaining multiple blunt trauma,” Ryan said.

Cai was last seen Tuesday evening and missed two appointments the following day, which led her husband and friends to approach police, who found her body in a SUV early Thursday morning near Lexington High School.

According to investigators, Cai recently told her husband and some friends that she was worried about her own safety.

Ryan said the incident does not appear to be random.
