Dorchester Man Charged In Alleged Sexual Assault On Woods Hole Ferry

FALMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Dorchester man, accused of sexually assaulting a woman on a Steamship Authority ferry Monday, has been charged with two counts of rape.

The suspect, identified as Bruno Sanches DeJesus, was arrested on Monday following the incident that allegedly happened on a ferry from Martha’s Vineyard to Woods Hole shortly before 5 p.m.

An 18-year-old woman reported the sexual assault to Falmouth Police when the ferry docked.

Massachusetts State Police said DeJesus left the dock as a passenger in a commercial box truck. Troopers located and stopped the truck shortly after on Route 28 in Falmouth.

DeJesus was taken into police custody, and held on a $250,000 cash bail.

He is set to be arraigned Tuesday in Falmouth District Court.
