Duxbury Man Arrested Following Drowning At Island Creek Pond

DUXBURY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Duxbury man was arrested Monday following a drowning overnight at Island Creek Pond.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said 19-year-old Jack Callahan has been charged. He will be arraigned Tuesday in Plymouth District Court. Authorities did not say what the specific charges are.

Duxbury Police received a call around 2 a.m. Monday from a mother who said her 19-year son came home and told her his father was missing.

First responders managed to find the victim and pull him from the water. The victim was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, where he was later pronounced dead. No word on his identity.

Authorities said the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
