DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The family and friends of drowned Dedham teenager Alonzo Polk are calling for more accountability from the people who owned the house that he died in.

More than two dozen people stood in the rain late Saturday afternoon at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Route 1 in Dedham demanding justice for the 17-year-old. He drowned in a backyard pool during a Dedham graduation party on June 6, at James and Leslie Coughlin's house.

The former State Trooper and his wife were charged with reckless endangerment and serving alcohol to a minor, and both pleaded not guilty. They were released without bail, and Polk’s brother Roshawn Drane said that’s not enough.

"He hasn't been held accountable for anything. He's just been continuing to live his life and my mother suffers every day, and that's a problem for me," Drane said.

He said the family still wants more answers.

"My brother could have been in college at this point. My mother should be going to visit him," Drane said. "We need to figure out what happened. No one's talking, it was a party with 200-plus people, no one knows anything."

The Coughlin's lawyer said Polk's death was a "terrible accident" during the Coughlins' arraignment , but argued that the the couple was not to blame as a friend threw him into the pool and that there was no alcohol in his blood stream, according to WBZ-TV.
