First Night Boston Is Back After Going Virtual Last Year

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A beloved New Year's Eve tradition will be back in Boston this year after going virtual last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

First Night Boston has provided hours of entertainment in the city each New Year's Eve since 1979.

The celebration is set to kick off on Friday, December 31 at noon. There will be hours of entertainment including local performers, arts and crafts, ice sculpting and fireworks in the Back Bay.

Officials say they will comply with the City's Covid-19 regulations and masks will be required at indoor events. Events will last until 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 1.
