BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The B Branch of the MBTA Green Line will close from Monday, July 16 to Friday, July 28 for a major track replacement project.
The MBTA said crews will replace more than 2,000 feet of track between the Griggs Street and Packard's Corner stations during the shutdown, resulting in fewer service disruptions for riders.
Crews will also be replacing duct banks and underground conduits that provide power to the Green Line and repainting platform edges, bike lanes, and pedestrian crossings, the transportation authority said.
Shuttle buses will replace trolley service on the B Branch from Boston College to Kenmore stations. Buses will not service Allston Street, Griggs Street, or Packard's Corner for accessibility reasons, the MBTA said.
