Halloween Costume Shopping Coming Down To The Wire

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Halloween is this coming Sunday and one local store is helping last-minute shoppers find their outfit.

Boston Costume in Cambridge is filled with an endless array of options. While Tiger King was the most popular Halloween trend last year, Eric Propp, who handles costume rentals and sales at the store, said this year it is all about Netflix’s latest craze.

“There’s always something that explodes around this time” he said. “I think this year is maybe the ‘Squid Game.’”

Propp added there are many specific things related to the show that people can piece together with various parts. There may also be a track and jumpsuit shortage this season and a surplus of items that are not “in” anymore.

“We still have a Bernie mask sitting here waiting," Propp said.

This is in response to when Bernie Sanders was photographed at the inauguration of President Joe Biden sitting with a mask, legs crossed and gloves. The imaged inspired many memes but not as many Halloween costumes as Propp expected.

Propp also said that at this stage in the game, shoppers should be be less picky and get inspired with what they find.
