Local Companies Team Up To Make Hand Sanitizer

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Three local companies have teamed up to help fill the urgent shortage of hand sanitizer.

Evolved by Nature is a green chemistry company in Medford that usually makes skin care products. It’s partnered with Boston Harbor Distillery, which is supplying the sanitizer’s main ingredient, alcohol, and the Royal Label Company, which is making the product’s labels.

Evolved by Nature President Rebecca Lacouture tells WBZ-TV it’s taking a team effort to fight the coronavirus outbreak. “There’s a need for all those in the community who have manufacturing capabilities to rally together so that we get critical supplies out to those in need,” she said.

So far the collaboration has produced 150 gallons of hand sanitizer. The first medical facility to get a batch is Tufts Medical Center, just one of several hospitals benefiting from the partnership. The plan is to continue manufacturing the hand sanitizer and attracting more companies to help.
