MANSFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Restaurants in Mansfield are still recovering after a boil water advisory stalled business for several days.
The Town of Mansfield initiated the boil order on Sunday after E. coli bacteria was detected in the town's water supply. For restaurant owners like George Pantos of Jimmy's Pub and Restaurant on N Main Street, it was a big hit to take on the same day that the Patriots played their season opener.
"It was a bonus day, but not with E. coli threats," Pantos told WBZ NewsRadio. "You knew the fear of what was going on, people weren’t coming in, and they didn’t. Thankfully they didn’t, because the Patriots played like crap."

Pantos estimates he lost 50% of his business on Sunday.
The order was lifted on Wednesday, but Pantos is still feeling the economic effects. He told WBZ that he spent Thursday "flushing all the water, letting it run for 15 minutes, waiting for my refrigeration guy here to change the filters on my ice machine." According to Pantos, it has cost him "close to $750."
"We’ve done what the Board of Health and the Town has asked us to do. It was a scare, thankfully. I haven’t met one person that was sick," Pantos said.
