BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported another 4,464 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Friday, upping the state's total number of cases to 211,748.
The state DPH also reported another 29 deaths among confirmed cases, bringing the total COVID-death toll in Massachusetts to 10,401.
The state DPH said its COVID-19 Daily Dashboard was not published on Thanksgiving, so Friday's dashboard includes reports received early afternoon Wednesday through 8 a.m. Friday.
The seven-day average rate of positive coronavirus tests in the Commonwealth has risen over the past month to around 3.3 percent. The DPH said there are currently an estimated 41,852 active cases of the virus in the state.
There are currently 986 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Massachusetts, and 209 coronavirus patients are receiving intensive care.
According to Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center, the U.S. has now confirmed more than 13 million cases of COVID-19, and more than 264,000 Americans have died of the virus to date.
