BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Cambridge native makes his triumphant return to the Commonwealth for a showing of his new feature film.
“Paradise” premieres on Wednesday night at the AMC Boston Common and starts streaming on Tubi on March 21. Director Max Isaacson wanted one of the first showings of the movie to be close to home.
“It’s nice to be home. I’m really excited to bring the movie home. I want to show it to [all the] people I grew up with [and] I can’t wait to show my parents, but I’m slightly terrified,” said Isaacson.
Isaacson was born and raised in the Porter Square neighborhood of Cambridge and attended the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School. He has directed many projects, including television shows and shorts, but “Paradise” is his first feature film.
“I set out to go do this job. It feels amazing to have done anything, you know, and to be able to bring something back that I’m proud of and can show people and hang my hat on feels like a lot,” said Isaacson.
Isaacson said he often pulls from real-life experiences and people he met while growing up. He has three more projects in the works, which he would love to film in the Commonwealth.
“I think two of them could be shot in Massachusetts without even blinking,” said Isaacson.
