BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The 2023 season may be up in the air, but the 2024 season is set in stone.

The Red Sox released their 2024 schedule Thursday. The team will open up its season on the road on March 28 against the Seattle Mariners. The home opener will be on April 9 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Xander Bogaerts will make his return to Fenway with the San Diego Padres from June 28 to 30, marking the first time the Padres have played at Fenway since 2013. The Arizona Diamondbacks will return to Fenway for the first time since 2016 from August 23 to 25 and the Chicago Cubs will play at Fenway for the first time since from April 26 to 28.

The San Francisco Giants, Washington Nationals, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, and Philadelphia Phillies will also play at Fenway this year. This is the second season where the MLB will have a balanced schedule, where everyone plays everyone at least once, which makes many of these series possible.

The Red Sox will travel to Dodger Stadium for the first time since 2016 to face Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, and the Dodgers from July 19 to 21. They'll also play at Busch Stadium in St. Louis for the time since 2017. Other away interleague away trips include games against the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Miami Marlins, Colorado Rockies, and New York Mets.

The Sox will close out the season against the Tampa Bay Rays on September 29. They will also play the Rays in two Spring Training games in the Dominican Republic as a part of the league
