No Armed Protests Outside Mass. State House Despite Concerns

Updated at 1:03 p.m.

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts State House continued to be guarded by police on Wednesday even though armed protests did not materialize during the Inauguration of President Joe Biden.

Entrance gates at the State House had been blocked off by metal barricades with some having a double layer of fencing. Windows have also been protected with plexiglass.

This came after a warning from the FBI that armed protests could take place at all 50 U.S. Capitol buildings, including in Massachusetts.

While there were no protests, Boston Police, State Police, and DCR Rangers continued to patrol the area around the State House Wednesday afternoon.
