Shooting Outside Worcester Club Leaves One Dead, One In Critical Condition

WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An hour after midnight on Saturday, an officer working an off-duty assignment at Hurricane Betty's on Southbridge Street, Worcester, reported shots had been fired near the club.

The Worcester Police Department said the scene was "chaotic" as more officers arrived and located two gunshot victims. Police said they administered medical aid and rushed the victims to hospital via ambulance. Officials said one of the victims, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced dead upon his arrival at the hospital. The other victim, a 32-year-old man, had injuries that were considered life-threatening and is being treated at the hospital, WPD said.

The statement from the WPD said that detectives arrived on the scene and are investigating the shooting and asked that anyone with information related to the case call 508-799-8651.
