Skyline Ground Beef Sent To Mass. Recalled Over Possible 'Foreign Object'

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A customer complaint led to the discovery of a possible 'foreign object' being mixed into 20-lb carton boxes of ground beef from Skyline Provisions, Inc.

Officials from the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service said about 5,620 pounds of raw beef is being recalled:

  • 20-lb. carton boxes containing four packages of “SKYLINE PROVISIONS, INC. GROUND BEEF 81/19” with “ITEM # 000248” printed on the label.
  • 20-lb. carton boxes containing four packages of “SKYLINE PROVISIONS, INC. GROUND BEEF 75/25” with “ITEM # 000293” printed on the label.

All items in question were produced and packaged on August 19. The main concern from the FSIS is that some bad product could be remaining in the freezer of residents.

There have been no reported injuries or illnesses in connection the recall, officials said.
