Suspect Arrested After Postal Truck Is Shot Several Times In Dorchester

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Police said that a suspect has been arrested after a U.S. postal truck was shot several times Tuesday afternoon in Dorchester.

The incident happened shortly after 12:15 p.m. near Quincy and Dacia Streets. Police found the USPS truck damaged from gunfire.

Police said a 17-year-old took himself to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Authorities arrested a suspect who matched the description of a man who was trying to flee the scene.

Police stopped and arrested 21-year-old Dion Caruthers, of Roxbury following a brief pursuit. They later found a loaded handgun in his jacket pocket.

The incident is currently under investigation.
