Tiny Cheerleader Champs Need Help Getting To Disney

LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The West Lynn Mighty Mite Pop Warner cheerleading team won first place in the New England regional competition, but they are going to need some help to afford to go to the national competition in Florida.

The 7 to 8-year-old athletes have put in countless hours practice.

"In the summer we practice five days a week, we drop down to three days a week once the school session starts going," says coach Britany Ligault, "these girls really dedicate a lot of time, energy and a lot of emotional practices. They're working so hard. It's a lot of time and commitment invested in the team."

Right now the cost for the team of 8 girls and 2 coaches to travel to the national competition in Walt Disney World is projected to cost up to $12,000. Coach and parent Arielle Brisbon says they need help to make their dreams come true, "There's no way we can all come up with the money for every single girl, and to break these little girls' hearts would be the ultimate disappointment."

A GoFundMe account has been set up to support the team.
