Town Of Hingham Opens New COVID-19 Test Site

HINGHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The town of Hingham is opening a new COVID-19 test site at its old light plant building on Cushing Street to help residents more easily access testing for the virus.

Chair of the Hingham Board of Selectmen Mary Power said the town is trying to increase access to testing on the south shore, where residents have told her it's been hard to get tested amid a recent surge in confirmed cases across the state.

"The inability to get a test ... is one reason we felt the town opening a testing site would be helpful," Power said.

The new test site is set to open on Thursday, December 10th and will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. The location is open to people of all ages, including children.

There are a few things to remember before getting in line, including personal ID, your health insurance card, a form of payment, and a face mask or covering. While walk-ins will be accepted, appointments will be given priority.
