WBZ's Carl Stevens Joining Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall Of Fame

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Longtime WBZ NewsRadio reporter and "poet laureate" Carl Stevens will be inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame, the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association announced Wednesday.

Stevens has been part of the WBZ family since 1991, reporting on news stories across the Bay State and crafting beloved poems that are broadcast on WBZ's airwaves.

Joining Carl Stevens in the Class of 2023 are:

  • Costa-Eagle Media founder Pat Costa
  • WCVB Channel 5 Boston sports anchor Mike Lynch
  • WBZ-TV / CBS Boston reporter Bill Shields (posthumous)
  • 7News - WHDH Boston photographer Therman Toon (posthumous)
  • Radio historian, media professor, and former DJ Donna Halper, who will also receive the Hall of Fame Pioneer Award

This year's MA Broadcasters Hall of Fame Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on June 8 and will be the 15th such program. More than 150 legendary Massachusetts broadcasters have been inducted into the Hall of Fame to date.
