WESTBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — After receiving reports of concerning behavior, police arrested a school bus driver in the middle of her Thursday morning route with children on board.
In a news release on Facebook on Thursday, the Westborough Police Department said that they contacted the bus driver near 135 E. Main Street, where officers worked to assess the situation and “ensure the safety of the children involved.”
The 51-year-old driver, Jane Welch, from Marlborough was subsequently arrested for allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence and child endangerment while OUI.
The police expressed their “heartfelt gratitude” to the people who reported their concerns about the driver’s behavior.
They added that anyone with further information about the situation and the children's safety should contact them.
