FOXBORO, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Winter skating outside Gillette Stadium was announced to make a grand return this year after being on hiatus due to the pandemic. Patriot Place announced that the New England tradition returns on Veterans Day, with veterans and military members themselves receiving free admission and skate rentals for opening weekend.

Patriot Place General Manager and Vice President Brian Earley told WBZ NewsRadio, "When I was a kid we always went to a pond- we wanted to recreate that experience here for families. We encourage people to come down Thursday, and Saturday and Sunday look beautiful for skating at Patriot Place."

The outdoor rink, detailed on the Patriot Place website, will remain open every day until February, except for when the Patriots play home games.

Before heading out to skate, visitors were encouraged to check the rink's hours of operation.
