WORCESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — At 2:47 a.m. on Saturday, Worcester Police were dispatched to a Big Y parking lot at 100 Mayfield Street for a report of a person who had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers found the gunshot victim, a 17-year-old girl. Police said officers assisted the victim medically until an ambulance arrived, when she was later transported to the hospital and pronounced dead at 3:32 a.m.

The Crime Scene Unit and Detective Bureau secured the crime scene and began investigation, officials said the incident did not appear to be random in nature.
Worcester Police said that anyone with information about the incident can send an anonymous text to 274637 TIPWPD + or send an anonymous web message at worcesterma.gov/police.
